    • Persian carpets

Traditionally the finest Persian carpets and rugs come from the workshops in the main cities of Isfahan, Tabriz, Kashan, Meshed, Kirman and Qum. Carpets made in these cities are renowned for their fine detailing, elegance, sophistication, and beauty. The carpet weavers in these cities were constantly innovating and creating more complex and intricate designs producing stunning Persian rugs that were meticulously woven from wool or silk foundations. This attention to detail and innovation meant that these carpets are now some of the most sought after and valuable in the world with a 17th-century Persian vase style carpet selling for $33.8 million in June 2013 in a New York auction.

    • Turkish Silk carpets

When one mentions splendid oriental carpets, it is impossible not to think about Turkish carpets. The main attractions in Turkish rugs are their sophistication and distinguished elegance. From recent production of finely woven handmade silk rugs such as Hereke and Kayseri to more classic and antique pieces like Ushak and Sparta carpets, buyers have always been spoiled for choice. History shows that antique large Turkish carpets from ancient commercial carpet-weaving centres, which arrived in Europe during the 17th and 18th century, had captured carpet lovers admiration whereby until now any of these sturdy carpets appear in auctions generate waves of interests.

As a collector of both silk and antique rugs, I only source high quality and good conditioned carpets, as I believe each rug gives us an insight into their past history. There is a comprehensive selection for sale and buying online is quick and simple. Whether you are looking for silk Turkish Hereke with their unique colours and designs or seeking traditional Turkish Ushak carpets with their cross-referencing styles between east and west, there is always a desirable piece for you to buy with confidence.

    • Oriental Rugs

We must not underestimate the influence of fine oriental rugs in the western world from regions such as China, Tibet, India and Pakistan specially from the beginning of the 19th to the mid 20th centuries. For example, in these regions, some of the finest Kashmir or Chinese carpets are produced, showing both traditional and modern designs in wool and silk. They are intricate, curvilinear and often pictorial with some bright colours interweaved between duller colours. However, they are still highly attractive and vibrant which look particularly good in modern, small, living rooms or bedrooms. Even though silk Chinese rugs have much to learn, they are still considered as some of the finest selling rugs, therefore quickly catching up with more established rugs, such as the Turkish Hereke or the Persian carpets.

Please browse our section of fine wool and silk oriental rugs to discover both the contemporary and traditional items for sell. We only select unique and exquisite rugs, as we believe buying these splendid rugs not only gives the interior of a home individuality, but also decorative versatility, due to the colours and designs making them irresistible to ignore.
